Neil Schaffner
Class of 1987
Neil
was named All-Ohio in Baseball during his senior year. He was the
Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year in Baseball in 1987. Neil
earned First Team All-MAC honors in Baseball during his junior and
senior seasons. He was a member of the 1987 State Championship Team and
the 1985 MAC Championship Team in Baseball. Neil earned three varsity
letters in Baseball and one varsity letter in Cross Country. He
currently holds the school record at Parkway for highest batting average
in a season at .575, most stolen bases in a career with 62, most stolen
bases in a season with 48, and most walks in a season with 30. Neil
attended Union College where he was named All-Conference in 1992 and
1993. While attending Union College he led the Bulldogs in Runs Batted
In from 1991 to 1993 with 165, and led the league with 10 home runs in
1992. He set a NAIA record by playing 138 consecutive games without
committing an error. Neil was a member of the Continental World Series
team that finished as National Runners-up in 1992.
