Business and Art Students Visit Chicago
The Parkway High School Art and Business students attended a fieldtrip to the “Windy City” of Chicago. The group activities included a boat tour of the architecture of Chicago, a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, behind the scene tour of Solider Field, Shed aquarium, and a trip up the Willis Tower. Students learned about the history of Chicago, including the great fire of Chicago. While on the boat tour students learned about the cost of each building, time involved in building the structure, and with some buildings, they learned about the miles of materials used to build the structure.
There was time for students to take in the taste of Chicago while they visited Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile during meal times. Groups visited Chicago Pizzerias to take in a deep dish pizza, while others visited Michael Jordan’s steak house or Harry Carries dinner. Students enjoyed the opportunity to try something new and take in the big city at lunch time.
The Parkway Art and Business program would like to thank K&K Tours (Celina, Ohio) for helping put this great tour together and helping our students experience Chicago. Portions of this trip were paid through fundraising efforts by the Parkway Business program, and we would like to thank the community for their continued support of fundraising efforts. More information about the student's trip can be found in local newspapers and in the next installment of the Black and Gold Unfold.
